In today’s episode, I speak with Kathleen, a DC lawyer who explains how she shifted from intending to pursue government policy work to staying in private practice for intellectual challenge and financial security, including after having children. Kathleen also shares early money memories—her mom’s handwritten budget, tight but transparent finances, giving, and saving a small allowance—which shaped her emphasis on responsibility, hard work, and avoiding debt. Tune in to hear the first part of Kathleen’s story.
